During the Christmas holidays, one of our talented Year 9 writers reached out to Austin Macauley Publishers to get his story, ‘Dreadful Night’ published and his wish came true when it was accepted for submission.

This week he received his professionally edited and designed book. He went on to explain: “The inspiration to write my own book stemmed from my love for creative writing and the endless possibilities that come with it but getting into writing can be daunting.”

He has some top tips on how to improve as a writer too:

* Read books out of your comfort zone.

* Practice writing as much as possible.

* Find your voice.
