New Student Leaders

On Friday 15th June 2018 interviews were held for the new Student Leaders. 9 boys in Year 10 were shortlisted for interview following an application process.

During the interview shortlisted candidates had to give a presentation to Ms Qurrey, Mr Hayes and Mr Halliwell, followed by some very difficult questions.

The standard of the interview was exactly the same as that for a new member of the Teaching Staff.

As you can imagine, the boys were all very nervous.

All boys performed brilliantly, showing their skills of communication, love for the school community and they all showed great courage. This made the decision of selection very difficult.

On the morning of Monday 18th June 2018, the boys were informed of the decision of the panel.

“Becoming Head Boy is a great opportunity for me as it allows me to have a more effective voice within the Student Body. Also, I can now effectively inspire and influence all students and hopefully assist them towards their future ambitions. I am honoured to have been successful amongst all applications in my interview. I enter the role with the intention of living up to the expectations from the staff and the students and reaching my leadership potential, while encouraging others to do so as well. I hope to better connect our Student Body with the teachers and parents. This is because coherence is essential in an institution such as St Bonaventure’s, a school that is based upon community. While all of this is being done, I hope to maintain a clear mind with my judgments and execution of actions. My view is that kindness and diligence are the foundation the position of Head Boy, this is what I will show to all the boys in our school over the next 12 months”
